FAQ’s

What should I expect during my first massage appointment?

Your first visit will begin with a short consultation where your therapist will ask about your health history, areas of tension, and your goals for the session. This helps us tailor the massage to your specific needs. After the consultation, your therapist will step out of the room while you get comfortable on the massage table.

Do I need to remove all of my clothing?

You should undress to your comfort level. Most clients remove most clothing, but some choose to keep underwear on. Throughout the massage you will always be professionally draped with a sheet or towel, and only the area being worked on will be uncovered.

Is massage therapy painful?

Massage should never feel painful. Some techniques may involve deeper pressure to address muscle tension, which can feel intense but should always remain comfortable. Please let your therapist know if you would like the pressure adjusted.

Do I need to talk during the massage?

Talking is completely optional. Some clients prefer to relax quietly, while others enjoy conversation. Your therapist will follow your lead, but you are always welcome to communicate if you need anything.

What if I feel self-conscious about my body?

Massage therapists are trained professionals who work with clients of all body types every day. Our focus is on your comfort, wellbeing, and muscle health—not appearance.

What if I fall asleep during my massage?

This is very common. Falling asleep simply means your body has relaxed deeply, which is often one of the goals of massage therapy, and considered a compliment.

How should I prepare for my appointment?

We recommend that you:

• Arrive 5–10 minutes early for your appointment

• Drink water before and after your massage

• Avoid eating a heavy meal immediately beforehand

• Inform your therapist of any injuries, medical conditions, or concerns

Will I feel sore after the massage?

Some clients experience mild soreness after deeper massage work, similar to how muscles may feel after exercise. This usually fades within 24 hours. Drinking water and gentle stretching can help.

How often should I get a massage?

The frequency depends on your goals. Many clients schedule:

• Monthly sessions for relaxation and general wellness

• Sessions every 2–4 weeks for stress relief

• Weekly sessions for chronic tension or injury recovery

Your therapist can recommend a schedule that works best for you.

Can I request a specific area to focus on?

Absolutely. If you have a specific area of tension, pain, or discomfort, please let your therapist know during your consultation so the session can be customised for your needs. It’s your tailored session.

What if I need to change something during the massage?

Your comfort is our priority. If you would like the pressure adjusted, need extra support with pillows, or feel too warm or cold, please let your therapist know at any time.

What happens after the massage?

Your therapist will step out of the room so you can get dressed. Afterward, they may suggest hydration, gentle stretching, or future sessions depending on your needs.

✅ Tip for first-timers:

Just relax and communicate with your therapist. The more comfortable and open you are, the better the experience will be.
